Alister Avocats advised Groupe Lombardot and its CEO Hubert Lombardot, the leading automotive distributor in the French Var department for over 40 years, on the sale of part of its group to Cosmobilis, through its subsidiary BYmyCAR, thereby strengthening its presence in south-eastern France.
Originally based in the Var, the Lombardot automotive group, which currently represents 9 brands (Alfa Romeo, Audi, Mercedes, Jeep, Porsche, Smart, Skoda, Volkswagen, and Fuso), has entered into an agreement that allows BYmyCAR to take over the representation of 8 of these brands. The Lombardot Group will continue to represent Porsche.
Ranked among France’s top 100 automotive distributors, the Lombardot Group reported a revenue of €317.9 million in 2022. ISO 9001-certified since 1998, the company operates in the automotive distribution and repair industry and employs 459 people across 9 locations in the Var department.
Through this acquisition, the BYmyCAR automotive distribution group, a fully owned subsidiary of the Cosmobilis group, strengthens its presence in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region of France by establishing itself in the Var département with several of its leading brands. In 2022, the group reported a turnover of €2.55 billion.

The Lombardot Group tasked Alister Avocats with structuring the transaction and drafting the necessary legal documentation.
Jean-Pierre Coron, the lead partner, was supported by partners Julie Schrenck, Alexis Triquet, and Candice Wack in managing the corporate aspects of the deal. Florence Baile, partner at the firm, with assistance from Cécile Damez-Mertens, addressed the social aspects of the sale. Valérie Valeux, the partner leading Alister’s real estate department, managed all aspects related to operating leases. Emmanuel Aubin, partner, handled the tax aspects of the transaction.
